Riftbound Meta Tier List Update – 4th August 2025

Keep up to date with the current Riftbound metagame by checking out this week's Riftbound Tier List update!

Hello there, and welcome to the first Riftbound Metagame Tier List Update. The game is officially out in China, and with the full Origins set released, we've started to have our first proper tournaments over Tabletop Simulator on Discord and other similar community-based events. With this, this is the first time we've been able to really get a proper look at how the metagame is shaping up.

As time goes on and we have more tournaments and data, the metagame will continue to evolve and by the time we reach the Western paper release, we could be looking at a wholly different metagame. So, make sure to keep an eye out for future weekly metagame updates, so you can keep up to date with them!

However, strap in, as in this article we'll be going over all of the metagame changes and updates over the past week (or two, in this case) of the Riftbound metagame, including all of the tier list changes and explanations of how each deck is currently performing in tournaments around the world.

Riftbound Metagame Tier List

S-Tier

Viktor

Coming off of the back end of his early dominance of the TTS tournament scene, Viktor is still definitely the deck to beat. He's got pure power on his side, and he's still definitely one of the most consistent decks in the format.

On top of this, it feels like Viktor is definitely defining the rest of the format at this point. According to the data provided to us from the main TTS tournament host, Riftbound Meta, Viktor has a great winrate and plays well into a good bunch of the higher-tier decks, including Ahri and Sett, and has shaped a lot of the wider metagame.

Kai'Sa 🔼

Making her way all the way up from the B-tier to the S-tier, Kai'Sa has definitely become a deck to watch out for in the current metagame. She's arguably one of the two most popular decks (the other one being Sett) and has the second highest winrate in the metagame, including favourable matchups into most of the top decks including Viktor, while falling short vs Sett.

The most popular Kai'Sa deck is a very powerful and efficient tempo-oriented deck, which has had multiple wins and top-8 finishes in the past few weeks. Keep an eye out for our guide, which will tell you everything that you need to know about getting started with this deck.

Sett 🔼

Already on the fringes of S-tier, Sett's playability was never in doubt. And, with a great winrate into Kai'Sa and the highest winrate at 61%, there's no doubt that Sett does belong up here due to his consistency and ability to win against a number of decks in the metagame.

However, Sett's matchup into Viktor is the main weakness, and so there is definitely a form of rock-paper-scissors forming in the top tiers of the Riftbound meta at this point; where Kai'Sa beats Viktor, Sett beats Kai'sa, and Viktor beats Sett. It'll be interesting to see how this plays out over time, though, as all three decks have so much room to grow.

A-Tier

Ahri 🔽

Ahri has definitely been one of the more popular contenders in the metagame, but has fallen down in comparison to previously due to her bad matchups into both Viktor and Kai'sa; both of whom are pretty much two of the best decks in the format right now. She is still, however, a great pick into Sett; she also keeps a lot of decks out of the top tiers.

Control Ahri is still a powerful decklist, and has a lot of potential if the meta does shift to a point where she's favourable. But, it doesn't look very likely for her, as right now Viktor completely counters her if he can get online, and Kai'Sa just continues playing an efficient tempo gameplan into her.

Teemo 🔼

Thought to be a meme-tier deck, Teemo has proven to be a solid contender in the current metagame. His ability to play into the metagame and have a good matchup into Viktor, as well as a 50/50 matchup into Sett, means that he can go toe-to-toe against the best decks in the format. On top of this, the nature of his deck does mean that he has a pretty good neutral game based on skill; it seems like a good Teemo player might be able to take on the better decks in the format.

He does, however, have a bad matchup into Kai'Sa, which is definitely keeping him out of the top tier of the metagame. However, otherwise, playing Teemo seems like it can definitely bring success in the right hands. Teemo did top 8 twice over the past two weeks too, and so looks promising when it comes to the tournament scene.

Master Yi

While his win-rates aren't at the same level of the other decks, Master Yi definitely feels as though he has potential to challenge the top decks in the format. With a massive dominance over both Viktor and Kai'Sa, there's definitely a chance that Yi could find success in the metagame.

However, with that, Yi has a bad Sett matchup, as well as a worse winrate across the board against other decks, and so there's a good chance that other decks may overshadow Yi in the A-tier in the future. He also recently found success in the top-8 of a TTS tournament, which shows that more fortune may be coming the way of Yi.

Jinx

Jinx has been one of the most exciting and popular picks for a lot of people, and she's definitely proving to be pretty decent. With her only real bad matchups in the top of the metagame being Kai'Sa and Master Yi, Jinx is a contender for being one of the best decks in the format in the right field.

With her legend, Loose Cannon giving her one of the best neutral gameplans in the whole of the game, it's no wonder that an aggressive/midrange deck can put up a performance against pretty much any deck, and is a reason for her higher winrate and tournament performance even though on paper it may not seem like she has a shot.

Darius

With a great winrate and multiple top 8 finishes, Darius is definitely a formidable part of the metagame. And with great matchups into all three of Kai'Sa, Sett, and Viktor, there's a good chance that he could evolve into his own place in the S tier. However, his matchups are definitely not the best outside of this, and he falters into a lot of the lower-tier decks.

On top of this, his popularity and Top 8 success right now is only due to the fact that he's such a good anti-meta deck, and I don't think he has the staying power to be able to push into the S tier without innovation. With this, he's very strong and is definitely worth considering if you want to enter a hyper-competitive field.

B-Tier

Lee Sin 🔽

Lee Sin has pretty terrible winrates into most of the top champions, and also a poor winrate all around. Yi has definitely overshone him as the better of the Body/Calm combination; but, Lee Sin has also seen tournament top-8s in the past month, so I don't want to completely write him off just yet.

Lux 🔽

With a recent Top 8, Lux would definitely be a contender for the top two tiers if it wasn't for the fact that her Kai'Sa matchup is abysmal. She also doesn't fare very well into Viktor, as well as having a bad matchup into Yi, meaning that while her winrate isn't terrible, she doesn't feel like she has much staying power at the top of the metagame.

Annie

Annie has top-8ed recently, but has a pretty good time into most of the decks in the higher-tier. Her only real saving grace is the fact that she seemingly has a great Viktor matchup, meaning that she should do incredibly in a Viktor-heavy field (if statistics are to be believed). She's not terrible, though, and can creep into the top tiers for sure as time goes on.

Miss Fortune

Miss Fortune definitely falls under a lot of the other decks in pure win percentage, but I don't think that she's hit her full potential yet. She's got a pretty good card pool and a lot of the tools to be able to take on the metagame, and so I think that she's definitely better than the numbers make out to be. However, there's a good chance that she's just nowhere near the level of her other Body peers, and that Chaos is a mediocre Domain.

C-Tier

Leona

Leona generally hasn't made many waves, with a sub 30% win rate and bad matchups into pretty much every deck. Calm and Order might simply just not work together with the current cardpool, with how different they can feel sometimes (with Calm having a lot of cards that affect single units, and Order caring about lots of units).

Volibear 🔽

Volibear had a lot of hype going into Origins, but it seems to have died down with a 35% win rate and bad matchups into the top meta decks. However, if Ahri does make her way to the top of the metagame for any reason, there's a good chance that Volibear rises in response with how strong of a matchup it is.

Yasuo 🔽

With such an interesting playstyle, it would've been nice to see Yasuo higher up, but he's just truly underperforming on every account. He performs slightly against lower-tier decks, but completely folds against higher tiers. So, it's disappointing that he's just not been doing much in the wider metagame.

Garen

Garen feels like the weakest deck in the game right now, just due to a lack of good card quality and a legend that feels underwhelming. Right now, Garen just doesn't feel particularly strong whatsoever, and I don't expect him to rise up in the metagame unless something major changes in future sets.

Closing Time

The Riftbound metagame is looking to be incredibly exciting going into Origins' release. As the Chinese metagame starts to take place, it'll be interesting to see how things will shape up, and how this list changes as time goes on. Will Kai'Sa sit atop the throne, or will Viktor find more metashare in the longterm?

With that, make sure to keep up with the Metagame through our weekly updates and all of our other content on Riftbound.gg! We're here to provide you everything you need to get right into Origins when it releases, and we can't wait to see where this game goes either.

In any case, thank you for your time, and I'll see you on the rift.
