Riftbound Meta Tier List Update – 11th August 2025

Keep up to date with the current Riftbound metagame by checking out this week's Riftbound Tier List update!

Hi there! Welcome to this week's Riftbound Metagame Tier List update. It's August 11th, which means we're in Week 2 of Riftbound's CN release. And, with this, we've also had a few online tournaments in the past week; which means that we've got a little bit more information about the metagame.

So, how is the metagame looking? Have the top three managed to keep their dominance over the metagame? Have any of the lower-tier decks managed to creep their way up? And, has there finally been a viable Garen build?

In this week's update, we'll go over everything that has happened in the past week of Riftbound, and how the metagame is looking another week in. We'll go over this week's tier list changes, as well as all of the other things that have happened that are worth keeping an eye on if you want to be ahead of the curve.

Riftbound Metagame Tier List - 11th August 2025

General Information

This week has had three major online tournaments. We've had the Riftbound Meta Weekly Tournament, the Riftlab Trials Tournament, and the Riftbound France Cup Season 0 tournament. The latter of two are definitely worth considering, with the Riftbound Meta Weekly hosting 88 players and the Riftlab Trials hosting 104 players. Keep an eye out for our tournament reports this week for each!

The other tournament was a 16 player tournament, so it maybe isn't worth considering at the same level as the other ones, but we'll still shout it out here for good measure. As for the CN metagame, we haven't really had much news out of the region yet as a lot of the Riftbound creators on Bilibili are also looking at the larger online tournaments, but there has been speak of Yi dominating over in the East.

Of course, as things become clearer our tier list will adjust, but right now a lot of the tier list has been balancing out to really put the better decks in the format a cut above the rest.

S Tier

Kai'Sa

For more info on how to play Kai'Sa, check out our Kai'Sa Tempo Deck Guide!

Still at the top of the format, Kai'Sa has been a popular pick and has seen a few top 8 finishes within the past week. Even with no tournament wins, it still feels evident that she's the best deck in the format; it does feel like she's still at the top of the format and defining the metagame wholly.

Two of the Kai'Sa players in the latter ends of the Riftbound Meta Weekly tournament faced one another, and so there may have been another Kai'Sa in the top 8 of that tournament. Also, I feel like a lot of people are trying to beat her as a challenge, and so her low(er) metashare percentage only makes me feel as though it's a product of that.

All in all, I'm feeling more confident that Kai'Sa is going to be a mainstay of the format as time goes on, as it looks like she has the most staying power of the top decks even as Riftbound's Most Wanted.

Viktor

Viktor has also continued to do fairly well, winning the Riftbound Meta Weekly and also placing once more in the top 8. With this, it's definite that his lack of showings recently haven't meant much regarding his placement, and he's definitely still at the top of his game.

Interestingly, none of the top Viktor decks this week have been Mono-Order, mainly opting for Mind for Thousand-Tailed Watcher. So, it could be that Mono-Order was a flash in the pan, and dual-Domain Viktor is here to stay. We'll have to wait and see, though.

Sett

Sett has also been doing pretty well this week too. In the Riftlab Trials, he took first place as well as placing once more in the top 8 of the same tournament. Inversely to Kai'Sa, he seems to have done pretty well in that tournament, and has barely had a showing in the Riftbound Meta Weekly tournament.

With this, the rock paper scissors at the top of the metagame still remains, and it's not looking as though any of these three decks will disappear from the top tiers at the moment.

Also, massive congratulations to Vendorty for both winning the Riftlab Trials with Sett as well as finishing top 4 with Kai'Sa above in the Riftbound Meta Weekly! It's really nice to see repeat players start to make a name for themselves in the metagame.

A Tier

Teemo

With a top 8 in the Riftbound Meta Weekly, Teemo is still looking to be a great pick in the right hands. As mentioned previously, it seems as though Teemo is the kind of deck that requires a lot of reps to play right, and I only feel as though his metashare and success will improve over time.

There's a chance that he starts drifting towards the B-Tier though on metashare alone, but I feel as though giving the deck a bit more time to come together is fair because of how well he's been placing in some of these events recently.

Master Yi

With four Top 8 finishes in the Riftlab Trials as well as a top 8 finish in the Riftbound Meta Weekly, it does feel as though Master Yi is a step away from making his way into the top tier. Especially if the discussion about him dominating the CN format is true, it's definitely a consideration to make in the coming weeks.

Right now, I didn't want to make a super rash decision based on one tournament, and so I kept Yi in the A tier for now as I don't really know if his winrate is there yet all around, or if the Riftlab Trials was an outlier. But, the Riftlab tournament is definitely promising, and if you're a Yi player then get ready to maybe be on one of the defining decks of the format.

Darius

Darius is a very solid A-tier pick. Finishing 2nd in the Riftlab Trials, he's definitely up there and able to compete, but it doesn't seem like he's making too many waves otherwise, and still doesn't fare well into Kai'Sa. Still, it's a great showing though, and he could definitely pick up steam as more players start to play champs like Master Yi and Volibear.

B Tier

Volibear 🔼

Making his way out of C tier, Volibear is starting to feel like he has at least some legs in the format now. Finishing in the top 4 of the Riftlab Trials, there's definitely a deck that can perform here, but the winrates still do leave a lot to be desired.

There's also the 16-player French tournament, in which three Volibear decks top 8ed, but I don't know if that's strong enough data to say he's anything past 'playable'.

Lux

Not much has changed for Lux, with no top finishes to speak of, but I do think that she's still a very meta/build dependent deck. I'm not quite ready to give up on her this week, but I could definitely see her falling to the bottom tiers eventually even if the cardpool for her is there.

Annie

Annie hasn't really had much happen either. Once again, she's still proven herself before, so I don't want to move her down to the bottom tier just yet, but it's seeming as though she hasn't really got the tools to compete with the top decks in the format outside of Viktor and Yi, faltering against the rest of the tier A or S decks.

I do still feel like Annie has some potential to surprise us, but I'm not holding my breath to see her in the A tier at any point soon.

Miss Fortune

Interestingly, Miss Fortune did come 3-4th in the Riftbound Meta Weekly, being knocked out by a Viktor but taking down a Kai'Sa along the way. So, I think that Miss Fortune is probably the most likely of the champions that'll make her way up; I just think people are still trying to work out how to do exactly that.

Interestingly, she does have a 42% winrate into Kai'Sa in Bo3s, so we'll have to see if this was just a lucky win or if the deck has shifted enough to shift the matchup in her favour. For now though, I don't want to make any moves with her just yet.

Ahri 🔽

At one point, it felt as though Ahri was the deck to beat to get into the top tiers of the format. But, recently, it does appear like she's not been doing a lot of anything. Outside of a win in the 16-player French tournament, her best result seems to be a Top 16 in the Riftbound Meta Weekly, in which she was eliminated by Teemo.

Even though the winrates are there (but slowly creeping down), does Ahri really have enough staying power to get back to the top tables? I am starting to doubt it, as decks are seemingly just getting too aggressive for her to be able to handle.

Jinx 🔽

I feel as though Jinx could easily bounce between the B tier and the A tier. Putting her in A tier last week was very much a choice as it felt like she was naturally positioned as an A-tier answer to the metagame. But, she hasn't really made any waves in the most recent tournaments, and so I don't really know if that's true anymore.

Since she was already such a contentious pick, it does seem only right to move her out of the same tier as other decks that have had multiple top finishes in this past week. But, if she starts to see form again, then I do think she can still make her way into the A tier again.

C Tier

Leona

While not a top 8, Leona did top 16 the Riftbound Meta Weekly this past week. And, there have been talks of a strong anti-meta Leona deck, though I don't know how credible they are. For now, she stays in the C Tier, but if she starts placing higher and more frequently I can definitely see her moving up to the B tier.

Yasuo

Not really much to say, Yasuo has done nothing of note in the past week, with his highest placement in the Riftbound Meta Weekly being 48. Ouch.

Garen

Even more painfully, not a single player registered Garen in the Riftbound Meta Weekly. It's pretty evident who's at the bottom of the format, at this point.

Lee Sin 🔽

Lee Sin hasn't really done much this week, or at all since the first week of tournaments in July. And, with all this time, it feels as though Master Yi has kind of overshadowed his place in the metagame. So, with this, I don't know if Lee Sin has a place in the current metagame, hence his positioning in the C tier.

Closing Time

With this week, the top three of the metagame have started to solidify themselves, and a few decks have started to fall off. On top of this, there are a few decks that are emerging, and are worth keeping an eye on. In the coming week, we have a 2v2 tournament from Riftbound Meta, and so I wouldn't expect any huge changes to the metagame in the coming week.
