Renata Glasc – Best Decks & Cards

Renata Glasc rose from the ashes of her childhood home with nothing but her name and her parents' alchemical research. In the decades since, she has become Zaun's wealthiest chem-baron, a business magnate who built her power by tying everyone's interests to her own. Work with her, and be rewarded beyond measure. Work against her, and live to regret it. But everyone comes to her side, eventually.

The first legend to have her ability designed for tag team action, Renata Glasc has been struggling in the Spiritforged metagame.
The Order - Mind tandem has progressed in this new set, with some of the best units to build around Gold gear tokens, alongside support for token or gear oriented strategies. At first glance, this packed everything Renata Glasc needed to thrive, based on the synergies she is designed upon. Yet, this mostly benefited OGN-265 so far, the more proactive legend in that domain combination.

Renata Glast has been taking notes however, building her deck to feature proactive synergies, and ways to quickly get on the board. The ability wants us to quickly reach 5 points, so a hot start is instrumental for this legend to thrive.

At first, one might think Renata Glasc wants to hold battlefields in order to create Gold gear tokens. However, we have plenty of other ways to get some SFD-T03 into play, so the focus should be to reach 5 points. Indeed, once we gain the additional energy, Renata Glasc can plan for explosive turns, or always have resources available to react during her opponent's turn.

Cards such as SFD-202 or paying to ban SFD-090 represent a large cost. It is only through unlocking that additional energy that Renata Glasc can add those to the other things she wants to do in a turn, and become a real late-game menace in the process.

Renata Glasc Signature Cards

The signature spells has been an important weapon for Renata Glasc so far, often the way for the Chem-Baroness to close the match through taking control of an opposing large unit.
Due to its cost, SFD-202 is difficult to play in the early stages of a match. One could hide it after a conquer, hoping for the opponent to attack with two units, but it is a very niche scenario. To use it as a mid-game removal, the goal is to create a couple of Gold gear tokens to absorb the power-cost, and use the spell to force two opposing units to fight each other during our turn.

The champion units aren't as good unfortunately. So far, neither SFD-202 nor SFD-088 managed to be impactful in Spiritforged. The 4-cost is the pick as the chosen champion, mostly because the deck is building around tokens with SFD-168 in the mix, while the Gold tokens also enter ready when SFD-202 is in play.

Renata Glasc Staple Cards and Synergies

The ability points towards a hold oriented deck, but Renata Glasc isn't building her deck for that purpose. Instead, the legend is packing strong cards related to Gold Gear tokens, or gears in general.
There are way to create some, with SFD-069, SFD-070 or SFD-155. Cards benefiting from Gears in SFD-072 or SFD-084, and payoff cards to summon with Jayce : SFD-161 and SFD-168.

Overall, it seems the legend is more after strong play patterns than a specific play style. Gears are at the core of the game plan, but they are nothing but tools Renata Glasc can use to achieve her goal.
Only after she managed to get control of the board, cards designed for a hold strategy will come into play. SFD-064 and SFD-086 are good support, but the likes of OGN-116 or OGN-213 remain too good to build a deck without them.
Plus, the deck wants to get to 5 points early on to enhance its SFD-T03.
